Effective Date: March 10, 2026 · Last Updated: March 10, 2026

AiKi ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the AiKi mobile application (the "App") available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Please read this policy carefully. By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account Information

When you sign in using Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In, we receive and store the following information from your authentication provider:

  • Email address
  • Display name
  • Profile picture (avatar URL)
  • Unique user identifier (UID)

1.2 Study Activity Data

We collect data about your study sessions to provide personalized learning experiences and enable features such as activity tracking and global rankings. This includes:

  • Daily study duration (active seconds)
  • Study session timestamps
  • Total cumulative study time

1.3 User-Generated Content

Content you create within the App is stored locally on your device. This includes:

  • Flashcard decks and individual cards
  • Study progress and review history
  • AI Chat conversation history

1.4 Subscription Information

If you subscribe to AiKi Pro, your subscription status (active/inactive), plan type (Monthly or Annual), and expiry date are stored locally on your device. All payment processing is handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play Store — we do not collect or store any payment card details.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Authentication: To create and manage your account securely via Firebase Authentication.
  • Personalized Learning: To provide AI-powered flashcard generation, study suggestions, and chat-based tutoring through Firebase AI (Gemini).
  • Activity Tracking & Rankings: To display your study history and position on global leaderboards.
  • Service Improvement: To understand usage patterns and improve the App experience.
  • Subscription Management: To determine your access level (Free vs. AiKi Pro) and manage feature availability.

3. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

Firebase Authentication

Handles user sign-in via Google and Apple. See Firebase Privacy Policy.

Cloud Firestore

Stores study activity data and user rankings in the cloud.

Firebase AI (Gemini)

Powers AI-driven features such as chat-based tutoring and flashcard generation. Conversations may be processed by Google's AI models.

Apple App Store & Google Play Store

Handle all subscription payment processing for AiKi Pro.

4. Data Storage

Local Storage

Your flashcards, decks, study progress, and AI chat history are stored locally on your device using ObjectBox (a high-performance local database). Subscription status and user preferences are stored in local SharedPreferences.

Cloud Storage

Your account profile (name, email, avatar), study activity sessions, and cumulative study time are synced to Cloud Firestore to enable features such as data backup, cross-device access, and global rankings.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information only in the following circumstances:

  • Leaderboard Display: Your display name and total study time may be visible to other users on the global rankings leaderboard.
  • Legal Requirements: When required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party service providers (Firebase/Google) who assist us in operating the App, subject to their own privacy policies.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time:

  • In-App Deletion: Use the "Delete Account" option in the Profile settings to permanently delete your Firebase Authentication account and all associated Firestore data.
  • Local Data: Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data (flashcards, chat history, preferences).
  • Contact Us: You may also contact us at anhtu.it.se@gmail.com to request data deletion.

7. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Authentication is handled through Firebase Auth with OAuth 2.0 protocols. Cloud data is protected by Firestore Security Rules that restrict read/write access to authorized users only. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at anhtu.it.se@gmail.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
